Shower Panels For the Bathroom

At some point during the day, we all need a shower. But we’re not limited, though, to how we shower.

A shower panel is one of the most sought-after fixtures you can add to your bathroom and represents the pinnacle of luxury.

Shower panels are an increasingly popular sight in bathrooms, featuring a sleek, all-in-one design, numerous showering options and a luxury that should appeal to everyone. In many cases, you can replace an existing showerhead with a shower panel with few alterations and minimally added plumbing.

Dreamline is a leader in the shower panel game, with some of the most sought-after and impressive features and designs anywhere.

They’re ideal for the homeowner who wants to upgrade the bathroom and add a touch of comfort to a rental (like for a college student).

It’s hard to compete with a shower panel’s features, which combine leading-edge technology and sophisticated design with comfort and luxury for an unforgettable showering experience:

  • Handle options: one, two or three handles
  • Multiple bodysprays: two, four, five, six or eight bodysprays
  • Showerhead: usually higher-end for a relaxing, luxurious spray
  • Handshower: includes a lengthy hose
  • Built-in shelves: available on some fixtures
  • Tub fillers: also offered on select models

Water pressure is definitely something to consider. Since a shower panel features multiple water outlets, you’ll need adequate water pressure. Manufacturers recommend at least 50 pounds per square inch (psi) for a system with three or more outlets. If your water pressure is lower than 45 psi, consider installing a water booster pump.

Another plumbing consideration is the water supply lines to your shower and drains. Standard ½-inch supply lines will restrict your water volume, so installing ¾-inch lines would be ideal.

Make sure your drains can also handle the increased amount in water. Water outlets can flow several gallons of water a minute each. So to avoid an indoor pool, install at least two two-inch drains or one three-inch drain.

The size of shower panels only adds to their appeal. They can range in height from 43 to 65 inches. And they can also be quite narrow, measuring just over six inches to 16½ inches wide.

Showering can be your chance to relax, rejuvenate and wash away the stresses of the day—and a shower panel sure can help.

Until next time, Happy Home Improving!
